The Cream of The Crop

We already know how to wear cropped tops for the summer. Now, it’s time to enrich our fashion knowledge and find out the best means to embrace this timeless trend for the present season. The only difference now is the change in weather. So what used to be a light material we could throw over a pair of jean shorts before heading to the pool, has now become more sweater-like with the same cropped appearance. Some designers to feature the crop top in their Fall/Winter 2010 line includes Rag & Bone, Diesel Black Gold, Tom Weiland, and Proenza Schouler.
Remember back in the 80’s when people paired crop tops with everything including sweat pants and leg warmers? That is not the right way to wear a crop top now. The winter 2010 cropped top fashion trend offers the chance to sport these shrunk and comfy style pieces paired with the oh-so-popular high-waisted pants and skirt. If you are more of a creative type, then go for the layered cropped top trend which requires additional fashion pieces to build up your outfit gradually. Pair with a pair of skinny jeans (it’s always important to keep the bottoms fitted when the top is loose!) and add some pumps. Plus a leather jacket? Ferosh.

When In Doubt Belt It Out

No girl can get by right now without a belt or two to top off any outfit. With the spotlight falling back on the waist, a belt is a great way to draw instant attention. The sleek and skinny belt can add a touch of delicate femininity to a simple getup, whereas wider ones can take your outfit from casual to party to formal. There's nothing more dapper than to dress up your trench, cocktail dress or breezy tunic with these leading-class belt styles made from various fabrics and designed in endless tones. For those of you with defined waists, the belt can reinforce your hourglass silhouette. And for those of you with a more boyish, up-and-down shape, the belt can create the illusion of a defined waist.

Look pulled together and stylish in a simple button-down blouse and sleek belt. Wear a belt over a shirt and sweater; whether you opt for a t-shirt and cardigan duo or a tunic and fly away sweater, belting the pair allows you to manipulate where you want the fabric to fall. Wear a belt with a blazer: Belt a casual pullover with a rustic-looking belt or spruce up your favorite new boyfriend jacket with a wide, buckled belt. Add a skinny belt over a chunky sweater or over your fall coat to update your look. It's the perfect way to breathe new life into the looks you've been wearing all season long!

It's A White Winter Afterall

Whoever said you can’t wear white after Labor Day is missing out on wearing designer collections of winter white fashion.  Too much of dark isn’t good. So, white, as a great contrast to black, was nearly everywhere. Why not? It’s cute, feminine and gives a fantastic opportunity to make the world lighter and more exhilarating. Winter white is a trend that returns year after year because it's like a breath of fresh air amongst all the gray, black and brown.

White worn in the winter is more about style, its fabric rather than its shade, and, of course, the climate. White denim is not appropriate for those colder, winter days, but a sleek pair of white pants will look seasonal and chic. Grounding white with a black belt, tights, and shoes will also winterize the look. Try off-white hues. You can still achieve the same bright glory by using similar tones. Pops of white can still brighten up an outfit, bringing a stark, minimalist look. Adding accessories to your winter white can help to acclimate it.  An off-white blazer with a heavy statement belt will make it look current, and not like you are still wearing your summer clothes in the fall. Dare to be a snow queen this winter?

Black Out

A lot of fashion designers added this sexy dress to their collections and it’s always popular and classic, as we see. The little black dress was first introduced by Coco Chanel in 1920 and it has become the epitome of timeless fashion. A black dress is incredibly compliant and versatile. It has been endorsed with being one of the most classic and wearable pieces of womens clothing. Smart, sexy, seductive or minimalist, a little black dress can be something that you want it to be. Over the years, the little black dress has undergone hemline, shoulder, strap and fabric variations but has never become outdated.

Dresses with their own focal points need very little accessorizing. A dash of color for the daytime or a hint of sparkle with jewelry for the nights are all that you need to get going. Perfect for any occasion, the little black dress can be dressed up or down. Wear it with a cardigan and pumps for work, a hot pair of open toe heels and jewelry at night, or sandals and scarf on the weekends. It's also perfect for fall and winter with a pair of boots. It seems the little black dress is here to stay forever.

One Of The Boys

What is more fabulous, sexy, and intimidating than a woman looking absolutely gorgeous in a tailored, man’s suit? Menswear has never looked so good on a woman. Designers like Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, and D&G are hitting the runway with suits for women, cut more like mens. The trend of wearing menswear has maintained its popularity for several years. Menswear is flattering on women and can be mixed with feminine pieces for a balanced look.

A slouchy pair of trousers is rolled up, belted, and worn with a pair of stilettos, a boxy jacket is mixed with a sheer, chiffon blouse. Whether sleek, casual, or straight from the office, these men’s clothes really show off a woman’s figure. Nothing's sexier than a white menswear shirt unbuttoned as far as you dare or a sleek slit skirt with a tailored jacket. You can always wear a skirt to make your outfit a little more feminine. Textured tweeds, plaids, and argyles, all from his closet; but tailored for you. Fashion is having a masculine moment.

Lace Up!

Girly and flirty lace is a very hot trend for winter 2010. It's look that's sexy enough to wear on a first date but it's sophisticated enough to wear at the office. The decade crowns lace as its ultimate fabric that radiated glam and high class. Lace is a classic and timeless trend for all seasons. This season we will see lace shoes, shirts, dresses, lace prints on denim, and lace jackets. Pair it with the must have accessories of the seasons to look dazzling and up-to-date with the latest waves of inspiration in the fashion industry. Lace is the feminine element that sweetens any outfit, whether it is matched with fur, shearling, leather, and tough boots. The key to wearing lace well is to strike a balance in the amount you wear; you don't want to wear too much and you don't want to wear too little, either. A lace dress can be spruced up with a sleek clutch, vintage jewelry, and ankle boots or high heel pumps. Create an edgy evening look by topping a feminine lace dress with a structured boyfriend blazer. For a perfect outfit, wear a lace blouse tucked into a pair of high-waisted trousers. With this, you can either be chic or as tough as leather!
