It's LC, Baby

Laguna Beach babe turned Hills-Hottie turned best-selling novelist turned fashion designer is literally TURNING heads. Lauren Conrad is only 28 and already has built her own empire. Sure she had help from having the luxury of being raised in a rich California town that just so happened to become famous by MTV overnight, but she is the reason it was such a success. Everybody remembers "LC" as the star of the reality show, Laguna Beach. With such success from the show, she was offered her own spin-off in which she follows her dreams to Los Angeles: "The Hills." She learned so much from working with Teen Vogue and People's Revolution to the point where she left the show to create her empire. And boy did she. Conrad has written eight books, to which I am OBSESSED with. She designs for Papercrown and has her own line at Kohl's called "LC by Lauren Conrad." It is affordable fashion that can be worn by any age. We can't seem to get over how she is one of the few reality stars that is actually successful and not a total nut-- like her former bff Heidi Montag. Kudos to you, LC.
Here is the top outfits this summer for her collection at Kohl's:

This pink maxi dress is everything. A subtle ombre on a maxi dress makes the dress more interesting and has an extra pretty effect! Dip-dye dresses are perfection. Nothing is more on-trend right now than a circle skirt. Tuck this chiffon button-up tank into this black skirt for a more than flattering look.

You've got a whimsical, cream chiffon maxi that is pleated and then mixed with a black tank with a peter pan collar-- this outfit is charming with a feminine flair. Love lace? Me too! Darkness Falls This Season

TAKE A WALK ON THE DARK SIDE
This season we are shifting back to black. Since when was wearing black ever considered fashion forward? You don't have to be considered goth anymore to wear all black. You have the power to make this color your own. One of the most classic, timeless colors is black. We all know this time of the year is a gloomy part of the year, so we feel like we can dress like it. Who cares? If I feel like wearing black I will wear black. I'm still a girly girl whose favorite color is pink, but I do like me some black. Wear black skinnies with a black leather jacket and you can never go wrong. What about the ever-so-famous LBD?! Take full advantage of it! Dare to bare in a black dress with a plunging neckline or opt for a dress with cut-outs for a more funky look. Black tights turn any dress or skirt up a notch to make you look super polished and professional. Bundle up in a warm black coat to hide your gloominess.  Basic black doesn't have to mean BORING! Be effortless, like Coco Chanel.

We are the Pinning People

Okay so lately I have had a crazy obsession with Pinterest. It is my go-to for all types of ideas. It could be fashion, wedding ideas, DIY crafts, makeup and hair tutorials, and of course FOOD! Pinterest use to be a thing that moms would do or bride-to-be's to look up ideas but now the website has evolved into a site that can be used by all ages. It's hard to find ways to spruce up my new looks, so I look to Pinterst. Sometimes I like many other people out there, want to try new food because we are so tired of eating the same old meals for dinner or desert. I look to Pinterest for new recipes that not only taste amazing and the picture is enticing, but the recipes are crazy creative. Pinning is simple. First you after you create an account, make your boards. I personally make boards for all types of different things so when I am looking for something specific, I can find it much easier. There are categories to search through to find a variety of what you are looking for, but if you want something more specific you can use the search bar. If you like what other people pin you can also follow them so they pop up on your news feed. All you have to do is click the picture you want to save to your boards and simply hit the "pin" button. It's so simple yet so addictive. It sure beats Facebook and Twitter. I highly recommend hopping on the Pinning train.

Ugly Christmas Sweater? No Way

Look festive without looking like you are trying to hard. Let's get one thing straight. Nobody actually wants to look ugly at an ugly Christmas sweater party. There are holiday traditions that will always remain: picking out your Christmas tree, baking gingerbread cookies with grandma, unwrapping those presents under the tree. But one present that seems like it is here to stay: ugly Christmas sweaters. We have made this tacky holiday event into a trend that lasts all the holiday season. There is nothing wrong with looking festive, you just don't need to wear a shirt that has light up bulbs that blink. Take it in moderation but still have fun with it. Why do we love these festive sweaters so much? They give us instant holiday cheer! It's never to early to get in the holiday spirit. Some of us get the winter blues, because contrary to belief this isn't the most cheerful time of the year, but you can make it fun if you try!

Show Off Your Spots

Unleash your inner spots! We all have a little feline waiting to roar so why not show it off in a scarf? The leopard scarf is nothing new, but why not keep it around for as long as we can- I mean after all it is a timeless print. Less is more. Some may think animal print is tacky, but all you have to do is wear it in moderation- besides any animal print on clothes, BESIDES a scarf in my opinion is extremely tacky. Some may think animal print shouldn't be on clothing because of animal rights, but you aren't actually wearing the animal and you aren't doing it intentionally- I am against the wearing of fur, so as long as your leopard print scarf isn't make of real fur, we can  remain friends. Since in the colder months people like to bundle up to be as warm as they can, a leopard print scarf can add a dash of glamour to your outfit. You can choose to rock it with a simple tee and jeans. Be edgy and rock that scarf with a leather jacket and some dark colored skinnies. Maybe perhaps a sweater and some riding boot with your hair in a bun? You can't go wrong with wearing a leopard print scarf with the ever-so-famous camel coat. So unleash your inner animal and go bold with a scarf.

Cardigan Crazy

Can you really go wrong with wearing a cardigan? NO! It's Fall and that means it is cardigan weather. They are versatile and classic that add a little touch- and don't forget warmth to your ensemble. They look effortless. Usually, women wear them for warmth and men wear them to look stylish and sophisticated. Wear a belt over your cardigan, buttoned or unbuttoned, right at your natural waistline. Go classic and wear a boyfriend cardi. The longer length of boyfriend cardigans makes them perfect for wearing with leggings or skinny jeans and a pair of boots. Ever think of wearing a printed one like an aztec? They look great with understated outfits that just consist of leggings and boots. Feel nautical with stripes. Anything and everything cardigans should be the staple to go to on those crisp fall days.

Combat to Me

Where are the tough-girl "soles" in this world? Literally. Accentuate your feet with the soles of combat boots. Sometimes we need a break from cutesy outfits and diamonds and all that jazz. You don't have to dress like an androgynous person to rock these boots! These shoes can be used to accent your girlish pieces. Back in the day these rough n' tough boots were woolly socks flannel worthy, now they're tights and floral worthy. You don't have to feel obligated to wear jeans and a leather jacket with your combat boots. Mix it up and don't be afraid to wear them with dresses and skirts of all types. Do something different and pair your combat boots with a maxi dress or if you're feeling those military vibes wear some skinnies and a green jacket with leather sleeves. Feeling hipster? How about some high waisted shorts with black tights and a baggy sweater. If you're still feeling those flannel roots there is nothing wrong with the classic look of a flannel and  a beanie.

Not only are combat boots cute, but they are extremely sustainable and comfy- which is an added plus to looking great. These boots are just as important in the fashion world and they are in military training!
